Ichabod Crane, a bookish school master moves to the New England hamlet of Sleepy Hollow. Ichabod disbelieves the local folk lore about the phantom that haunts the country people. He is a learned man and such superstition is beneath his contempt. One dark and starless evening he encounters the restless spirit of the Headless Horseman or is it an elaborate hoax perpetrated by the seemingly innocent inhabitants of Sleepy Hollow. Ichabod's thrilling tale is the perfect story to remind us that things are not always what they seem. Anderson's original adaptation of Irving's autumnal favorite weaves authentic a capella folk music into the richly drawn New England setting.
